Community consultation

Community consultation is an important part of the planning process.

Insights gathered throughout pre-lodgement community consultation in February - March 2024 were analysed and incorporated into the project’s Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), which is available to view on the Planning Portal.

During the public exhibition period (3 - 30 May 2024), the community were invited to speak with our project team about the EIS via one of our information sessions, and make a submission directly to the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) via the portal.

All submissions are published on the portal.

Infrastructure NSW prepared a Response to Submissions (RtS) report to respond to the issues raised through the submissions, which was released on 10 September 2024. The RtS included an updated Heritage Impact Statement to reflect the State Heritage Register Listing curtilage extension, gazetted on 12 July 2024.

The SSDA was re-exhibited until Wednesday 9 October 2024, and the submissions are now being collated.

What happens next?

The next step in the planning process will involve DPHI:

  • assessing the project SSDA in accordance with legislation, plans, policies and guidelines;
  • making a recommendation regarding whether the SSDA will be approved; and
  • outlining any conditions that may be applied to the development.

The NSW Minister for Planning and Public Spaces will make the final determination.
